June: Summer, Where Are You?

Chewy grew to tolerate the kiddos on the couch with her; she sometimes got some scraps so I guess the good stuff (food) outweighed the bad stuff (crazy/unpredictable flailings)...

Daddy and Mini-me!

Makin' pizza with Daddy

I think they are sharing a joke.  Oh no--I just realized they are already making fun of me!  How did this happen so soon?!

Look at those tootsies!

Having a picnic at the harbor in Bellingham

Jesse, 5 months....Lucy, obviously 2 years

Is that really my sister?!

May: Cruisin'

Jesse, 3 1/2 months

First bath together!

Lucy loves helping Jesse do tummy time

Morning adventure to Birch Bay, WA

On the move at Cultus Lake

Lucy loves walking on these docks

We had to get up early and go to Children's Hospital for an MRI, and Lucy was only allowed to drink apple juice and water.  She was a very brave patient and did great!

On the way home, with a victory chocolate shake

First hot day (May 13)

Help!  My sister might be loving me a bit too much!

The splash park in our neighborhood opened and Lucy was pretty excited

Very excited

Coloring in the yard

Lucy likes to read to Jesse.  Most of her stories start with, "Once upon a time..." and then incorporate either Goldilocks or Peter Rabbit.  Jesse loves story time with Lou.

We went to Harrison Lake, and Jesse spent a good 20 minutes trying to roll over.  People walking by were even cheering for him!

Feeling spent, he decided to take a break.

This pear paired nicely with the sand that was coated all over it--yum, yum!

Queen Elizabeth Park (overlooking Vancouver, BC)

Happy May!

April Part 2: Lucy's 2nd Birthday!

This was the first thing Lucy saw when she came downstairs--a new trike from Grandma and Grandpa Pothier!

We decided to spend Lucy's 2nd birthday in Bellingham WA, down by the bay.  Jesse had a good time in the carrier (his first time facing out so he could see everything)

Duane and Lucy, ready for lunch

Somebody loves chicken on a stick.   Somebody ate every bit of that chicken.  She loves meat, this crazy girl!

Celebrating her carnivorous ways

The Red Robin crew came over and sang her a birthday song and brought her a sundae--she was in heaven!!  (Thanks Auntie Amy and Uncle Ross for the Red Robin giftcard!)

Puzzle building at home

She got a puzzle piece completed all by herself!  Aren't you this excited, too?

Lucy with her birthday cupcake (and birthday Bear, the new tradition for birthdays)--Happy 2nd Birthday Lucy Louise!

The next day, we got ready for a little family gathering for Lucy.  She requested this picture with Chewy.  :)

She got a backpack from Auntie Melita and wouldn't stop wearing it--very cute!

Crazy ladies

Right after Lucy's birthday, spring really started coming on--woohoo!

Jesse, 3 months and so dang happy.

Lucy's first tea party--brought on by the monsoon-like rains that hit for quite a few days--was a hit.  It wasn't high tea, but I was able to make some petite peanut butter crackers and provide some fancy dress-up attire.

Practicing the good ol' tummy time

April Part 1: Easter!

Where's Lucy?  This was the little kiddo's egg hunt at Cultus Lake Elementary, which was Lucy's first hunting experience.  I definitely did not help her pick up any candy eggs--she was on her own and she was fairly conservative.  Good girl.

Lucy's first frenemy--she would run up to the Easter Bunny, then run away.  Many, many times.   Finally, about ten minutes before we left, she gave the bunny one more shot and made contact.

Awww, yeah--a high five from the Easter Bunny!  She was talking about this for days!

Sugar situation

Lucy's second Easter morning

Jesse's Easter morning--he was happy even without a basket

Lucy doing some trash talking with cousin Vanessa before Grammie Penner's Easter egg hunt

Grammie provided some much needed guidance for egg-finding

Jesse was getting tired, or perhaps he was a bit upset that he didn't get an Easter basket...

Lucy showing her goodies to Grandma Rose and Uncle Darrel (and Jesse looks a lot happier with Auntie Jenn)
