April Part 2: Lucy's 2nd Birthday!

This was the first thing Lucy saw when she came downstairs--a new trike from Grandma and Grandpa Pothier!

We decided to spend Lucy's 2nd birthday in Bellingham WA, down by the bay.  Jesse had a good time in the carrier (his first time facing out so he could see everything)

Duane and Lucy, ready for lunch

Somebody loves chicken on a stick.   Somebody ate every bit of that chicken.  She loves meat, this crazy girl!

Celebrating her carnivorous ways

The Red Robin crew came over and sang her a birthday song and brought her a sundae--she was in heaven!!  (Thanks Auntie Amy and Uncle Ross for the Red Robin giftcard!)

Puzzle building at home

She got a puzzle piece completed all by herself!  Aren't you this excited, too?

Lucy with her birthday cupcake (and birthday Bear, the new tradition for birthdays)--Happy 2nd Birthday Lucy Louise!

The next day, we got ready for a little family gathering for Lucy.  She requested this picture with Chewy.  :)

She got a backpack from Auntie Melita and wouldn't stop wearing it--very cute!

Crazy ladies

Right after Lucy's birthday, spring really started coming on--woohoo!

Jesse, 3 months and so dang happy.

Lucy's first tea party--brought on by the monsoon-like rains that hit for quite a few days--was a hit.  It wasn't high tea, but I was able to make some petite peanut butter crackers and provide some fancy dress-up attire.

Practicing the good ol' tummy time

April Part 1: Easter!

Where's Lucy?  This was the little kiddo's egg hunt at Cultus Lake Elementary, which was Lucy's first hunting experience.  I definitely did not help her pick up any candy eggs--she was on her own and she was fairly conservative.  Good girl.

Lucy's first frenemy--she would run up to the Easter Bunny, then run away.  Many, many times.   Finally, about ten minutes before we left, she gave the bunny one more shot and made contact.

Awww, yeah--a high five from the Easter Bunny!  She was talking about this for days!

Sugar situation

Lucy's second Easter morning

Jesse's Easter morning--he was happy even without a basket

Lucy doing some trash talking with cousin Vanessa before Grammie Penner's Easter egg hunt

Grammie provided some much needed guidance for egg-finding

Jesse was getting tired, or perhaps he was a bit upset that he didn't get an Easter basket...

Lucy showing her goodies to Grandma Rose and Uncle Darrel (and Jesse looks a lot happier with Auntie Jenn)

March: Mellow

Roarrrrr!
Every morning Jesse would chill out in this bouncy chair while we made breakfast

Lucy frequented the swimming pool down the street during all of the soggy and cold weather

Sigh...such a cutie pie!

Reading with Grammie!

Who's that girl?!  First night in her new bed...

She was chillin' in the fridge whilst reading Harlen Coben....Mommy's little girl

River walk

I found some pictures like this after Lucy and her Dad had been downstairs giggling

I feel like Jesse is going to have this look on his face quite a bit when hanging with Lucy...she's pretty silly

February: New Baby Immersion

From the beginning, Lucy has loved entertaining Jesse (1 week old)

Jesse, 2 weeks old, and sporting some rather large nostrils--love this guy!

Every day we went for a walk to get some exercise, although some days I wanted to crawl into that carrier with Jesse

Duane's 35th Birthday (the only picture).

Lucy and Jesse, snuggling

Thanks a lot Mo...I came around the corner and caught her trying to wear these Crocs.  Not cool.  But you rock for all the clothes for Jesse!!!

One of his first "real" smiles!

Lucy's favorite place--the park

Enjoying the crazy weather

Lucy thinks that when it snows, the ground is her snack bar. She keeps saying, "Mmmm, tastes like water".

She loves swinging "like a big girl".

At the park with her peeps, Audrey and Vanessa
Here's the belly. I think we are officially ready for this kiddo to show his cute little mug.

This might be the first thing our son will see when he comes into this world. Thank goodness I am a counselor...
